The Multi Destination Internship Program
Introduction
In 2004, Istituto Europeo launched a program, where students could intern in Florence based on their previous experiences and field of knowledge. This program continues today, but recently the school decided that they can, and will, expand beyond just one city. Istituto Europeo has built a program of excellence, and now students can be placed in big businesses and higher quality companies that are tailor made to the student's individual major and career goals.
A Program of Excellence
The multi destination program allows coordinators to search and find internships more specific and valuable to the student's field of study. IE Coordinators are able to research the best experienced companies all over Italy and Europe
An internship with an experienced company would not only give a student the opportunity to work under the best in that specific field, but also the opportunity for them to network and create business contacts that could possibly help them land a future job. The job market today is tough; this program can place students within big businesses all around the world and provide them with experiences within their field and not to mention a resume bullet that screams original.
Why Choose an Internship Instead of a University Style Class Schedule?
You can sit in a classroom and learn about a new culture anywhere, including your own university or even at your local library down the street. Typically when students choose to come abroad and take classes, the lectures are in English, they learn out of a book, and they still have to do homework and analytical papers; the only difference is the country. It is time to break free of the lectures and classrooms and start applying those college courses to real situations and real everyday problems. The internship program allows students to study their field through a company as well as open their eyes to a new culture and/or reality. An internship program challenges you to be more independent and compliant, but once you adapt and adjust to your new environment you will have grown on an educational as well as on a personal level.
