Come diceva, governatore? Grottesco? Ridicolo?

[Juventud, Turismo, Medio Ambiente, Igualdad y Educación]".
E italianas.

Study Gastronomy at UNISG: University of Gastronomic Sciences

UNISG: University of Gastronomic Sciences

Why Study Gastronomy?

This is an early time in the history of “food studies.” Definitions are changing, and so are the expectations for people working in the many aspects of gastronomy. Around the world, the interconnections between food and society, food and economics, food and culture, and certainly food and politics are starting to be seen and very strongly felt. Having an innate understanding of how these pieces fit together enables food-community and food- business leaders to make real change and achieve success for themselves and their organizations.

The demands on the natural environment—and the effect of those demands—also make expertise in food systems critically important. From production to processing to distribution to consumption, our choices have enormous collective impact. Educated gastronomes, and their ability to influence others, are key to making this impact positive and productive, to ensure a sustainable future for the planet.

Finally, and certainly not least important: food is fun, and nourishing, and deeply related to our sense of identity and self. Studying gastronomy reconnects us to our history and our culture, and builds continuity, creativity, and community—those elements at the very foundation of our humanity.

Entrepreneurial Excellence in Italy and Italian Life & Culture

SLOWFOOD the pleasure of food!
Everyone tells me that there are two Italies, the north and the south, and that they are totally different. Everyone also tells me that the thing to understand about Italy is that it is like a bird or insect that shouldn’t be able to fly, but does, somehow flouting all the rules of economics and politics. But when everyone tells me the same thing, I start to feel suspicious. Is this really true, I ask myself? And, for my new book, titled FORZA, ITALIA, I went on a journey around the country to find out.

According to Bill Emmott’s words, ISTITUTO EUROPEO is offering you the decisive journey that Bill Emmott undertook to finally discover the new Italian Economy, the BUONA ITALIA, as Bill defines it, the Italy that no one would expect but will be surprised with.
For this reason ISTITUTO EUROPEO, developed a 3 week program “Entrepreneurial Excellence in Italy and Italian Life & Culture” (in-class-lectures + visits to companies of excellence) which will enable you to get an analytical overview of the BUONA ITALIA, the new Italian Economy: economy of excellence.

An Italian company a day keeps the crisis away: today TOO LATE!!

The brand was founded in 2007, following the intuition of the young Italian entrepreneur Ale Fogazzi, who discovered the now-famous silicon watch at the MOMA Store in NY.
Alessandro obtained the International distribution rights of the product and created the brand which today is interpreting the Italian flavor world-wide by turning the minimalistic watch into a must have item.
With more than 2 millions watches sold during the last 3 years, Too Late is widening its collections, creating products from scratch but sticking with its winning philosophy: high-end, detail-oriented, affordable items.
One of the undeniable point of strength of Too Late is the ability to observe and to interpret its audience needs and feelings.
Watching things through the “man-in-the-street” eye is the tool adopted by Too Late to analyze the trends and the markets, out of the schemes established by the so-called “experts”.
Every jewelry, design-store, concept-store – you name it – propose Too Late to its customers with enthusiasm and emphasis thanks to the fact that the operators of the fashion system now share the looking-forward approach of the brand.
Lots of cheap imitations flourish every day to take advantage of the disruption brought in the market by Too Late, but the Italian brand don’t suffer the competition.
Hedonistic, irreverent, high-powered and fast, Too Late looks forward to new challenges with the renewed energy which defines it.

It's always TOO LATE

THE TOP TEN COMPOSERS? What a question!

Who are the greatest composers? Some candidates: above, from left, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Mozart, Schoenberg, Haydn, and Stravinsky; below, from left, Schumann, Brahms, Schubert, Handel, Bach, and Debussy.

You know that a new year has truly arrived when critics stop issuing all those lists of the best film, books, plays, recordings and whatever of the year gone by. These lists seem to be popular.
Imagine if we could do the same in classical music, if there were ways to rank composers. The top 10 composers of all time.
This is the list we have secretly wanted to compile (not in order of greatness).

Do you agree?

1) Arnold Schoenberg
2) Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin
3) Johann Sebastian Bach
4) Georg Friedrich Händel
5) Claude-Achille Debussy
6) Franz Schubert
7) Franz Joseph Haydn
9) Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
10) Wilhelm Richard Wagner

Entrepreneurial Excellence in Italy and Italian Life & Culture

Geox strong and classy
Everyone tells me that there are two Italies, the north and the south, and that they are totally different. Everyone also tells me that the thing to understand about Italy is that it is like a bird or insect that shouldn’t be able to fly, but does, somehow flouting all the rules of economics and politics. But when everyone tells me the same thing, I start to feel suspicious. Is this really true, I ask myself? And, for my new book, titled FORZA, ITALIA, I went on a journey around the country to find out.[1]

According to Bill Emmott’s words, ISTITUTO EUROPEO is offering you the decisive journey that Bill Emmott undertook to finally discover the new Italian Economy, the BUONA ITALIA, as Bill defines it, the Italy that no one would expect but will be surprised with.
Have you ever heard of Luxottica (http://www.luxottica.com/en/), Autogrill (http://www.autogrill.com/), Geox (http://www.geox.com/), Cucinelli (http://www.brunellocucinelli.it/index.php?lingua=2) Terra Vision http://www.terravision.eu/), Planeta (http://www.planeta.it/ENG/home.htm)…the most innovative and creative companies that are now conquering the international market?
For this reason ISTITUTO EUROPEO, developed a 3 week program “Entrepreneurial Excellence in Italy and Italian Life & Culture” (in-class-lectures + visits to companies of excellence) which will enable you to get an analytical overview of the BUONA ITALIA, the new Italian Economy: economy of excellence.

The Cinema:We celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Odeon Cinema. Built in 1462, Palazzo Strozzino, the building in which the cinema is located, is considered one of the most interesting example of Renaissance architecture. Palazzo Strozzino was renovated at the beginning of the 20th century by the architect Piacentini who transformed the back and the courtyard into an elegant art nouveau cinema-theatre which was opened in 1922. To this day the Odeon retains the original sculptures, tapestries, and the wonderful period stained glass cupola. Over the years some of the most glamorous names in show business have appeared in this jewel in the heart of Florence, musicians such as Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, actresses such as Isabelle Adjani and Anjelica Huston, and directors such as Bertolucci, Branagh, Salvatores, Benigni, Verdone and many Italian stars. Last autumn it has hosted the 50days of International Cinema in Florence.
