„Composers in residence“ - A promotion programme by the Academy of the Camerata Europaea
The Camerata Europaea and its artistic director Maria Makraki invite young composers from all over the world to apply for the Academy of the Camerata Europaea’s 2 year promotion scheme “Composers in residence”. The programme aims to foster its participants and their works not only in Europe but also beyond, building on the Camerata Europaea’s commitment to temporary and traditional European music.
Presentational support consists in commissions for works to be performed in the Camerata Europaea’s concerts and recitals of CE-Youth. The Camerata Europaea supports chamber music performances of participants’ works around the world and promotes their sponsorship by foundations and other institutions. Participants will be set apart in the Camerata Europaea’s season brochure and will be featured in the ensemble’s public relations campaign. Plans for recordings of the participating composers’ works by the Camerata Europaea are scheduled in order to make documentations of their works available.
Participation is possible for students of composition or young composers fromEurope and overseas. We appreciate applications from international composers in particular. If you would like to apply for the programme please submit the completed application form and a personal profile (including audio and/or video recordings, if available) with your CV and a letter of motivation highlighting your artistic development. The deadline for applications is the January 1, 2010. For further information concerning the application form please contact the Camerata Europaea per email at info@camerata-europaea.eu.
